ScarabPay Business is infrastructure for businesses that want to issue cards to their own customers without becoming a payments company themselves.
Why the ledger comes first.
Most of the difficulty in card issuing is not issuing cards. It is the accounting underneath: knowing, at any moment and after any failure, exactly where every unit of a merchant's money is. Providers time out. Webhooks arrive twice, or never. Requests get retried by a queue that already succeeded.
A system that stores balances as numbers to be updated will eventually be wrong about one of them, and will have no way to prove when it went wrong. So this platform does not store balances that way. It records movements as balanced double-entry legs in an insert-only ledger and derives balances from them. That choice makes some things slower to build and every reconciliation question answerable.
The rest follows from it: money in integer minor units so nothing rounds; provider calls outside database transactions so a slow issuer cannot hold a wallet open; idempotency keys required rather than optional so a retry is safe by contract; jobs dispatched after commit so an outage cannot half-apply a movement.
None of that is visible in a product screenshot, which is why this site keeps pointing at it directly.

What we are not.
We are not a bank and we do not hold a banking licence. Cards are issued through licensed issuing partners, and money movement depends on those partners and on regulated payment infrastructure.
We have no published customer list, no case studies and no usage figures on this site, because we are early and inventing them would be the easiest lie to tell in this category. When there is something real to show, it will appear here with a name attached to it.
